By influence of my family, since a little child I implied myself in charity activities and in volunteering. My
father coordinated a neighborhood residents' association which gathered food and clothing for the
needy ones, and my mother, moreover, cooked for the events of the Catholic Aid and prepared food for
selling in the benefit of the association.
During all my childhood I accompanied and helped in these associations. With the death of my father,
when I was 14 years old, I needed to seek other alternatives for my life and I entered in the Officers
School of the Brazilian Air Force. Far from home and with lots of spare time, I devoted many of my
weekends to the children of an orphanage, reading for the children, playing with them, while helping in
their studies.
Due to a health problem, I’ve left the Air Force as a Lieutenant and began a carrier in the financial
business, which lasted 12 years. After my third bank merge as a Deputy Director of the biggest Brazilian
Bank, I decided to left the money business and dedicate myself to my passion, food and gastronomy. But
I have never stopped my charity activities: supporting children with cancer, campaigns of incentive to
the donation of clothes during winter, distribution of soup and food in the Brazilian “favelas”, assistance
for the children of which parents had AIDS, organization of special meals in orphanages.
Recently I devoted myself in a project to incentive the blood donations (with more than 80 personal
donations); in another one that purchases, loans and donates wheelchairs to the needy; in the
assistance in the reorganization of an association of veterans of war; and more specifically in a project of
the Brazilian Association of Chefs which I developed and now I coordinate, that aims at teaching and to
form young teenagers, who do not have the means of paying for studies, in the restoration business, as
well as in the kitchen and cooking. Until the end of 2008 a total of 278 people of the poor communities
of São Paulo received this free formation and now they are employed and working in successful
restaurants of the city.
Executive Chef and co-owner of a restaurant in São Paulo, I think that supporting the needy and
incentive others to do the same is the best way for a better, and socially just world.
My sincere and honest devotion to social, humane and charity works had given me lots of prizes,
decorations and titles, and I proudly take them not as a personal profit, but as recognition for a really
hard work.
