CABALLERO DE HONOR.-

Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort MinistrySeptember 2005

.
"My name is Bishop Fernando Rodriguez, president of the Latin/African American Chaplains Association (L.A.C.A). After receiving a calling from God, I have founded and have been blessed to pastor a church called "One Way to Heaven" Christian Center located in the Hunts Point area of the Bronx. God has allowed me to help those in this disadvantaged community. I have seen many wonderful things become possible where possibilities were thought to be few.
.
Along with pastoring I began this chaplains organization. With the help of my Lord, I have also been able to establish a Christian radio station - Radio Renancer. Through the doors that God has allowed to be open we have become a positive voice for our community.
.
To further my efforts in helping restore lives and communities I am a member of Community Board One in the Bronx. I have had the privilege to work alongside others who share the same dedication and commitment to helping others.
.
Right now, our nation is in desperate need of healing. As you know, there are families that still have not overcome the September 11 tragedy and now have to endure another threat to our nation. We are left with the fear and pain of losing more loved ones. L.A.C.A. is committed to rebuilding lives, families and communities.
.
I believe that God has placed a burden in my heart to help restore families and to begin the healing process. I believe that, as it is stated in 2 Corinthians 1:5, - For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. "
